Shelley Fisher Fishkin, Stanford University, will present at our weekly Colloquium on Thursday, February 25th @ 3:00 PM in room 4010 JFSB.
Her presentation is titled: Writing America: Literary Landmarks from Walden Pond to Wounded Knee
She will be discussing her new book by the same name. Rutgers University Press describes it saying, “American novelist E.L. Doctorow once observed that literature “endows places with meaning.” Yet, as this wide-ranging new book vividly illustrates, understanding the places that shaped American writers’ lives and their art can provide deep insight into what makes their literature truly meaningful”.
