On Friday, February 20th, Eric Hayot will be on campus as the guest at our Humanities Center Annual Symposium. Hayot is Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at Penn State, and while much of his work is in Chinese he is also a major commentator on the humanities, with a great deal of wide-reaching (and very engaging) scholarship. Hayot will present an afternoon lecture entitled “What Happens to Literature if People are Artworks” And Other Thoughts on Kant.” The lecture will be held at 3:00pm in the Education in Zion Theater. He will also hold a meeting for faculty in the morning, at 11:00am in JFSB 4010. The morning meeting will be focused on his book On Literary Worlds.
