Title: Humanities “crisis” and disciplinary – and personal – change
Guests Kristin Matthews, Rex Nielson and Daryl Lee will talk about what is changing in our fields and careers, and how we’re adapting to these changes. The backdrop for the conversation is the neverending “crisis in the humanities,” a crisis from which we’re partly sheltered at BYU, but which bears on all of us in one way or another. This is a topic that affects all of us as scholars and teachers, and I wanted to bring some collective reflection to it in ways that may help us all gain a little more perspective (and perhaps generate new ideas) onto what we do, why we do it, and how our on-the-ground practices are changing.
