The Humanities Center welcomes Deidre Lynch, Harvard University, as our colloquium speaker on Thursday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM in 4010 JFSB. Dr. Lynch will be speaking with us about a special issue of PMLA she is co-editing for 2018. That issue title, and the title of her colloquium, will be “Cultures of Reading.” Lynch will take up questions about how the meanings, protocols, and objects of reading are no longer self-evident, and will also address ways the history of reading no longer seems, as it once did, to coincide, methodologically or thematically, with the history of the book (topic of a PMLA special issue a decade ago).
