This is the first episode we have released in three months. We were having technological difficulties with the system that distributes the podcasts, and it now seems mostly to be fixed. Thank you for your patience—and for listening to these episodes with our wonderful guests.

Mischa Willett is a poet, scholar of nineteenth-century British literature, and assistant professor of English and writing at Seattle Pacific University. We’re talking today about a thoughtful, insightful, and candid article he recently published in Fare Forward, an online ecumenical journal of Christian thought. In this article, titled “I Am a Churchgoer,” Mischa explains why he continues to attend weekly religious services even during an era when so many are leaving institutional religion. Some of his reasons are familiar and a few may surprise you. (More information about Mischa and his writing may be found at www.mischawillett.com)
