Scott Alvord Professor of Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish & Portuguese will present for the Humanities Center’s weekly colloquium on Thursday, October 14th. The presentation will be held at 3:00 PM in room 4010 JFSB and via Zoom.
In this presentation he will discuss some of the basic premises of sociolinguistics and illustrate how sociolinguistic and variationist analyses can contribute to our knowledge of human language. He will provide examples from my research in Calca, Perú, and Miami, FL.
